Unanimous support for major development in the AONB
On Thursday 2nd March, LEP’s planning team, appointed by developer, Jarvis Homes, secured unanimous support at Tunbridge Wells Planning Committee for 26 new homes (including 40% affordable) in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (ANOB) in Lamberhurst. Planning permission will now be granted, subject to conditions and S106.
After much proactive engagement with the Parish Council, local Neighbourhood Plan Group, and the Highways Authority, LEP’s planning team co-ordinated the pre-application, planning application and site promotion through the Local Plan process.
Following a committee speech by LEP’s Reece Lemon, the approved scheme was described as an ‘exemplary approach’ to planning and engagement with the planning system, with particular praise to the developer, Jarvis Homes, for their pragmatic and sensitive approach towards meeting the needs of the community through a quality proposal.
A robust technical team incorporating edge Urban Design, Stantec, Ecology Solutions, Greenspace Ecology, ES Landscape Planning, together with heritage consultancy services provided by LEP’s own in-house experts, worked tirelessly to secure a high-quality layout comprising traditional vernacular homes in the verdant tranquil setting.
LEP is delighted to have worked closely with Jarvis Homes in the co-ordination of this application, and looks forward to seeing this high-quality development move forward over the coming years.
